FAQs
What is Resident Engagement?
When we talk about resident engagement, we mean how residents influence the decisions we make about our services, homes and communities.
This includes:
• Shaping services (for example repairs or communications)
• Feeding into policies and strategies
• Being part of panels, resident groups or decision-making
• Giving feedback that leads to changes
Put simply, it’s about having a say and seeing what changes because of it.
How is Resident Engagement different to Community Engagement?
You might also hear us talk about community engagement. This is slightly different.
Community engagement is more about:
• Community events and activities
• Local projects and initiatives like food banks, gardening or wellbeing
• Bringing people together in neighbourhoods
• Building connections and partnerships
Both are important, but they do different things:
• Resident engagement = influencing decisions and improving services
• Community engagement = strengthening communities and relationships
This strategy is focused on resident engagement, making sure your voice helps shape what we do and how we do it.
